Dolores Canyon MD No. 1
The Dolores Canyon Metropolitan District No. 1 is a Title 32 Special District that has been established for the purpose of financing and installing street, park and recreation, limited water, sanitation, transportation, mosquito control, safety protection, fire protection, and television relay and translation improvements of the District, and the provision of covenant enforcement, design review, and security services; and all other improvements or services permitted by Article 1, Title 32, C.R.S. (collectively, the “Public Improvements and Services”), except as specifically limited by the Service Plan for the District approved by Mesa County on August 9, 2010, as it may be amended from time to time (the “Service Plan”).
The Public Improvements and Services are for the use and benefit of the residents and taxpayers of the District. The District is located in Mesa County, Colorado. The District is a quasi-municipal political subdivision of the State of Colorado authorized to provide specialized services that Mesa County does not provide.
The District may incur a maximum debt of $100,000,000. Revenue from the imposition of a mill levy and other legal available revenues, including fees, rates, rolls, penalties, or charges, may be used to repay such debt.
The District may assess a maximum mill levy of 50.000, adjusted pursuant to the Service Plan, adjusted for changes on or after January 1, 2010, to repay such debt.
The District must file an Annual Report to the Mesa County Attorney’s office, the Board of County Commissioners of Mesa County, the Division of Local Government, the State Auditor, and the Mesa County Clerk & Recorder.
The District boundaries overlap with the boundaries of Colorado River Water Conservation, Dolores Canyon Metropolitan District Nos. 2-4, Gateway-Unaweep Fire District, Library District, County Capital Expend., County-Develop Disabled, Mesa County, County General Fund, County Lease-Purchase Jail, County Road & Bridge – Full Levy, Social Services, County Translator TV Fund, School District #51 General, School District #51 Bond, School District #51 Override 96, School District #51 2004 Override, School District #51 2017 Override, School District #51 2024 Override, Southwest MD Rural Serv. PID, and Mesa County Gateway Public Improvement District.
